I am Bente Andermahr, a fine art photographic artist. My work presented here results from walking my camera about in urban, industrial and natural areas looking for the unexpected and unusual view of the ordinary and familiar, seeking to reveal the points of interest most people miss. My style acknowledges the strong influences of the paintings and drawings of Australian painter Jeffrey Smart; my fascination with all that is Japanese and my Danish heritage and its tradition of timeless, simple and functional design.
All that is structural and architectural underpins my work: the honesty and integrity of materials; the perfection and allure of the newly built; the respect for the cultural and historical; and the inevitability of age, impermanence and decay. This has developed within me a strong sense of formalism in my work, being strongly ruled by the compositional elements of form, pattern, texture, tone, colour and space.
My personal photographic focus is on expanding my unique and developing a creative collection of bespoke fine art photographic artwork for increased sales and exhibitions.
